DAY 02 - PHUENTSHOLING -THIMPUR(170kms 5hrs)
Morning hot breakfast at hotel and after that complete the immigration formalities. Checkout from hotel and transfer towards to Thimpu. Drive to Thimpu is a beautiful journey amidst dense green Woods on the Himalayan Mountains with several waterfalls sought by the road side. Cloudy weather with fog in between enhance the pleasure of journey. A short break may be taken for a Cup of & Suja” (Bhutanese Tea) and noodles.
On arrival at Thimpu check into the hotel. Evening at leisure. Overnight stay at Thimpu hotel.
DAY 03 - THIMPU SIGHTSEEING
Thimpu: the most modern city in Bhutan, however it still retains its cultural identity and values amidst the signs of
modernization. One of the most curious features of Thimpu is that it is the only capital city in the World that does not use
traffic lights. Instead a few major intersections have policemen standing in elaborately decorated boothsfsmall pavilions)
directing traffic with exaggerated hand motions. The juxtaposition of ancient tradition and modernity make Thimpu the
ideal location for visitors to break away from their tour itinerary and just immerse themselves in the lifestyle of
contemporary Bhutanese lifestyle.
Thimpu: the capital of Bhutan is also the home to the Royal family. We visit some of the sites of religious nature: National
Memorial Chorten: builtin 1974 it was raised in the memory of third King. Next we proceed to one of the oldest
monasteries in the valley-Chang Gangkha Monastery. National Lihraryf collections of holy scripts); was established in
1967 for the purpose of & preservation and promotion of the rich cultural and religious heritage” of Bhutan. It is located in
the Kawajangtsa area of Thimpu, above the Royal Thimpu Golf Course, near the Folk Heritage Museum and the National
Institute for Zoring Chusuin(Traditional Arts and Crafts) Buddha point -visit to Thimpu is incomplete without visiting
this place. The massive/gigantic statue of Lord Buddha in sitting posture is definitely a visual treat!! The statues that you
see inside is incredible. Buddha Point is definitely a must visit.
Simply Bhutan: a living museum depicts the Bhutanese Culture elaborately and is an icing on the cake to the trip. View of
Thimpu valley from BBS Tower is veiy captivating and will prove to be the perfect introduction to Thimpu. We may visit
the Zoo which also houses the National animal -Takin. In the evening we visit Tashichho Dzong, then main secretariat
building which house the throne room of His Majesty, The king. Overnight in Thimpu.DAY04TIIIMPUR-PUNAKIIA
DAY 04 - TIIIMPUR-PUNAKIIA via DOCIIU LA PASS(80kms 2hrs)
Morning hot breakfast at hotel. Checkout from hotel. Then transfer to Punakha, with a stop en route for memerizing
landscape photography at Dochu La Pass(3,100 meters), where on a clear day you can get spectacular views of the
Himalayans. Proceeding towards Punakha; the former capital of Bhutan is beautiful valley and a perfect get away into the
serene beauty of nature far away from the usual chaotic city life.
We visit Punakha Dzong, which is noteworthy both for
being one of the most beautiful Dzongs in Bhutan and also for giving been built by the first Shabdrung in 1937. After that
we take a short hike to visit the Chhimi Lhakhang -The Temple, also known as "The Temple of Fertility" built in 1499 by
the 14th Drukpa hierarch, Ngawang Choegyel, after the site was bleassed by the "Divine Madman" the maverick saint
Drukpa Kunley(1455 -1529) who built a chorten on the sitefThis monk is popularly known as the Divine Madman for his
philosophy, "Salvation through Sex). Overnight in Punakha.
DAY 05 - PUNAKHA -PARO & SIGHTSEEING
Morning hot breakfast at hotel. Checkout from hotel. Then we start for a full day city sightseeing. Places to visit are -Ta
Dzong, once a fortified lookout tower that is now the National Museum, Then we walk down the trail to visit the Rinpung
Dzong meaning fortress of the heap of jewels. Next we visit Kichu Lhakhang, the oldest temple in the country.
proceed to the Crugyal DzongfBhutan Victory Fort), which was built in 1646 to commemorate Bhutan’s victory over
Tibetan invaders during the 1600s. On a clear day we can see Mount Jumolhari, Bhutan's second-highest mountain at
7,314meters. Overnight in Paro hotel.
DAY 06 - TAKTSANG EXCURSION
Morning hot breakfast at hotel. Today is an ideal day for adventurous and most sought activity of Bhutan Trip; excursion to
Taktsang monastery(The Tiger’s Nest), which is Bhutan’s most famous monastery situated at 3180 meters. Guru
Rinpochefthe great spiritual master) is said to have flown on the back of a tigers to meditate in a cave where Taktsang
Monastery now stands. The monastery is perched on the edge of a steep cliff, about 900merers above Paro Valley.
For people unaccustomed to the altitude it takes about three and half hours at an average walking speed to reach the
temples & return walk is all down hill and takes about two & half hours.
Excursion to Taktsang is the most enjoyable part
of the tour and also may be tiring formost travellers . Evening at leisure. Overnight stay at Paro hotel.
DAY 07 - PARO -BAGDOGRA AIRPORT via PHUENTSHOLING
Morning hot breakfast at hotel. Checkout from hotel and transfer to Bagdogra Airport via Phuentsholing. We bid you
